Acceptable User Policy

Important Note: This document is updated occasionally. Please review it from time to time to stay abreast of changes to Positive Realities' Acceptable Use Policy. Reports of activity in violation of this policy may be sent via e-mail to abuse@PRonline.com. Please note that on most reports, we receive several emailed complaints, so we apologize for not being able to respond personally to you. Please be assured that Positive Realities does process these reports to determine if the violation of this policy was indeed sent from an actual Positive Realities account, and to do this, we may reply in a separate email to request further information if needed.

This document is intended to provide a general understanding of Positive Realities' Acceptable Use Policy. The following factors guide the establishment and enforcement of Positive Realities' usage policies:

  • Protect the security and privacy of Positive Realities systems and network.
  • Comply with existing laws.
  • Maintain Positive Realities' reputation as a responsible online service provider.
  • Encourage responsible use of the Internet and discourage activities that reduce the usability and value of Positive Realities' and Internet services.
  • Preserve the value of Positive Realities' and Internet resources as a conveyer for free expression and exchange of information.
  • Preserve the privacy and security of individual Positive Realities' website users.

A member may not use their Positive Realities
website account(s) to do any of the following:

  • use simultaneous, unattended or continuous connections to any of Positive Realities' websites or services with one account;
  • publish, post, distribute or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene or other unlawful material or information via any of Positive Realities' websites or services;
  • use Positive Realities' websites or services to threaten, harass, stalk, abuse, or otherwise violate the legal rights (including rights of privacy and publicity) of others;
  • intercept or attempt to intercept email or other private communications not intended for you;
  • send email to members or other Internet users for any purpose other than personal communication, including to send unsolicited advertisements or offer to sell goods or services to other Members, use as a mass distribution medium to communicate a generally unsolicited message, or use your email account in the text of these messages as an address of where members or other Internet users need to respond (except as otherwise expressly permitted by Positive Realities Multimedia, LLC);
  • send unsolicited email messages through third-party mail servers in order to relay your email or hide the origination of this email to others;
  • upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws, rights of privacy or publicity, or any other applicable law unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents;
  • upload files that contain a virus or corrupted data;
  • delete any author attributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in a file that you upload to a BBS;
  • falsify the source or origin of software or other material contained in a file that you upload to a BBS;
  • use Positive Realities' websites or services in a manner that adversely affects the availability of its resources to other Members;
  • use, download or otherwise copy, or provide (whether or not for a fee) to a person or entity that is not a Positive Realities' websites or services Member the Member directory or any portion thereof other than for personal, noncommercial purposes (except as otherwise expressly permitted by Positive Realities Multimedia, LLC);
  • download files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws, rights of privacy or publicity, or any other applicable law unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents;
  • falsely purport to be an Positive Realities employee or agent;
  • cause repeated disruptive incidents;
  • act, or fail to act, in your use of Positive Realities' websites or services, in a manner that is contrary to applicable law or regulation. In addition, each time you upload a file on Positive Realities' websites or services you represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control the rights or have the necessary consents to do so, and you grant every other Member the right to download and use such file for personal use.

Positive Realities' websites or services member's failure to observe any of the foregoing limitations or obligations may result in civil or criminal liability, as well as termination of your membership.

If Positive Realities' websites or services believes that a violation of these Guidelines has occurred, it may take responsive action. Such action may include, but is not limited to, temporary or permanent removal of material from Positive Realities servers, the cancellation of newsgroup posts, warnings to the account owner or account owners responsible, and/or the suspension or termination of the account or accounts responsible. Positive Realities will determine what action will be taken in response to a violation on a case-by-case basis. Violations of these Guidelines could also subject the account owner to criminal or civil liability.
